| 内容記述 | Teachers and learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) can easily lose sight of the purpose of language learning when there are few opportunities to use the language. Therefore EFL teachers need to create tasks for authentic use of English. Computer-mediated communication provides many options for using English to interact with foreigners in meaningful ways and for culture learning. This paper presents tasks that created a real audience for writing an introduction letter, requesting a pamphlet from a foreign school and developing a friendship with an American university student. Although there are risks to including authentic communication tasks in a curriculum, they are valuable for helping students become users of English. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 生活の中で英語を使う機会が少ない環境にある英語教育者と学習者は、外国語を学ぶ目的を見失う可能性がある。したがって、英語教育者は現実の文脈における英語コミュニケーションの課題を作成する必要性がある。外国人との交流および異文化学習のために、インターネットを様々な形で利用することが可能である。本稿では、現実の文脈における英語コミュニケーションの課題（自己紹介の手紙、海外の学校のパンフレット取り寄せ、アメリカの大学生との交流）の実践報告をする。「オーセンティック」な英語コミュニケーションの課題の導入には、何らかのリスクが伴うのは確かであるが、英語学習者が英語使用者になるための大事な要素である。 | |||||
