In the present study, we investigated the effects of simultaneous group nutritional education on improvements in participants' dietary lifestyles. The participants in this investigation were 86 women (mean age±SD, 57.8±6.2 years) and 22 men (mean age±SD, 60.1±4.9 years) who participated in the MMHP and were screened by a city medical checkup. A self-administered diet history questionnaire was conducted in order to evaluate the participants' energy and nutrient intakes. Analysis of questionnaire responses revealed that individuals who participated in the nutritional education program had lower intake of lipids, cholesterol, and meat, and higher intake of carbohydrates than individuals who did not participate in the nutritional education program. In addition, the participants showed little reduction in their frequency of participation in a variety of other programs following the nutritional education program.
