In the research, we carried out time study, accidents analysis, measurement of visual sight of large mechanical cargo handling machines, development of communication aids, work load measurement, and interviews. In this paper, we describe the results of work load measurement. The methods we adopted were their time structure of daily life work, the subjective fatigue feelings, and the cumulative fatigue symptoms. As results of the time structure survey, it was made clear that their mean working hour in a day was 487.3 minutes long and particularly its of workers engaging container handling was 537.8 minutes long. They had to spend 92.4 minutes to commute between their home and the port every day. It was also found that they spent most of holiday to take sleep and rest to recover their fatigue come from their work and commuting.
