Var. Sieboldiana Makino). Teuchi-gurumi contained immobile and mobile asssociated tannins (A. T) Which were detected on paperchromatograms, but these tannins were not detected in Oni-gurumi. Tannic acid,(―) gallocatechin and (―) epigallocatechin were detected on paperchromatograms in Teuchi-gurumi. Total phenol (T. P), flavanan tannin (F. T) and vanillin-positive phenol (Ⅴ. P) were higher in Teuchi-gurumi than in Oni-gurumi. PolyphenoIs in Teuchi-gurumi were found to consist of V.P, and F.
